Who we are
Innofor is a forest manager and certifier, and a consultant on carbon offsets and biodiversity. We are one of the pioneers of non-clearcut forestry methods, known as Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF).
Innofor is at the forefront of research into how different forms of forest management impact forest owners' economy, forest carbon sequestration, biodiversity and society at large.
We started off working with forest owners on how to transition from clearcut forestry to CCF. In time we have moved to working across the entire timber value chain, as businesses become more and more aware of the impact of their wood procurement on climate, biodiversity and local communities.
Building partnerships across borders for environmental impact
We assist companies seeking to mitigate their climate and nature impacts through protecting forests and encouraging more nature-friendly management, as well as with sales of carbon and biodiversity offsets achieved through these.
The company was founded in 2007 by Erno Lehto, a professional forester, and Marcus Walsh, a forest conservation expert. Today we are a team of 8 people with a wide network of subcontractors and co-operating companies in Finland, Estonia and Sweden.
